The Women Who Rise award is reserved for women who serve their community with humility, passion and dedication. They have gone above and beyond to help others. They are often overlooked and don’t make the headlines.
They consistently demonstrate their unyielding commitment to their community; having considerable influence effecting positive change to improve the lives of others. This award is reserved for nominations by the Day For Women Committee.
2025 Women Who Rise Recipient
Jennifer Jelavich

Jennifer Jelavich has profoundly impacted our community in just two years. Initially, unaware of her incredible contributions, but her dedication quickly became evident. Jennifer is an inspiration to young women. Through her volunteer work with the Dare to Dream program, she has empowered countless girls to believe in themselves, growing participation form 20 to 100 in just one year. Her efforts have let to requests for the program to multiple school districts, highlighting the positive change she brings.

Additionally, Jennifer has launched the Dream It, Be It program at Lindhurst and Yuba City High Schools., providing young women with essential career preparation tools. This initiative has generated interest from other schools, demonstrating the high demand for her mentorship.
